Each year during legislative session, commercial real estate owners and managers travel to Tallahassee to spend a day at the Capitol to discuss BOMA’s stance on issues important to our industry. Having a strong showing from our members at the Capitol sends the message that BOMA is a robust association with the backing of a talented and involved membership. The tentative agenda is as follows

Agenda

10:30 AM to 12:00 PM – Speaker presentations; meeting location Historic Capitol Museum’s Senate Chamber. Note: Prompt gathering at 10:30 AM is required, as we will be welcoming elected officials as speakers and presenting the Legislative Member of the Year Award.

12:00 PM to as needed – Each contingency of locals to meet with Senators, Representatives, and Aides from their districts. Note: Each local should schedule visits with their elected officials prior to the Advocacy Day Event; it is best to coordinate schedules after January 1st and again the week prior to our event.

Visit Preparation

We will be hosting a preparation meeting via conference call for all participants on January 16th at 2:00 p.m. EST. If needed, the BOMA Florida Government Affairs Committee will host a subsequent preparation meeting at a mutually convenient time for those attending Advocacy Day.
